Job Summary
To lead and manage the tax advisory and compliance function for client entities, ensuring timely filings, payments, and accurate records. The role includes overseeing registrations and updates with the Federal Tax Authority and other relevant bodies. In addition to core compliance work, the Manager will support advisory engagements through technical research, preparation of reports, and contributions to internal knowledge development. This position is key to ensuring full compliance with UAE tax regulations while delivering high-quality support for both routine and complex matters.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare / review the preparation of Corporate Tax compliance deliverables for client entities, including (but not limited to) tax returns, payments, registrations, de-registrations, and various applications on the FTA portal.
- Ensure audit-ready documentation and support timely responses to FTA queries, clarifications, and tax audits.
- Create and monitor tax calendars and statutory deadlines to ensure timely compliance and accurate reporting.
- Perform tax reconciliations and coordinate required adjustments with the clients finance team / auditor / external party; provide assistance in preparing and reviewing financial statements and related tax schedules, as needed.
- Mentor and coach junior team members, fostering a culture of quality, performance, and continuous improvement.
- Manage local & international tax advisory projects, including conducting and supervising legislative and technical tax research; draft, review, and finalize written advice, technical memoranda, and other client deliverables.
- Drive internal process improvement by standardizing working templates and tools, and identifying automation or technology solutions to enhance tax compliance efficiency.
- Stay updated on local & international tax legislation and actively support internal briefings, knowledge-sharing, and training initiatives for the team.
- Coordinate deliverables, client communication (if applicable), and proactively identify cross-selling and up-selling / farming opportunities.
- Integrate cross-functional knowledge, connecting tax work with other relevant UAE laws (e.g., VAT, corporate law, global mobility) to ensure holistic advice and avoid working in silos; maintain high client satisfaction through technically sound, responsive service delivery.

Job / Person Specifications
Qualifications and Knowledge:
- Professional accountancy qualification such as CA, CPA, ACCA, or any equivalent certification.
- Additional qualification in taxation (e.g., Post Graduate Diploma in Taxation, CTA, ATT) will be considered an added advantage.
- Background in tax compliance, payroll processing, or financial reporting within a professional services environment; preference will be given to candidates with experience at Top 5 global accounting or auditing firms.
- Advance knowledge of IFRS and other relevant accounting standards, with the ability to apply these in practical client scenarios.
- Working knowledge of UAE tax regulations; familiarity with EU tax frameworks or the tax regime of the candidate’s home jurisdiction is also valued.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel and Power BI, with the ability to analyze, interpret, and present financial and tax data effectively.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English are essential; proficiency in Arabic is a plus.

Experience:
- 8 to 10 years of experience in tax accounting or compliance, preferably within the UAE or GCC region, ideally within consulting firms or in-house finance/tax departments, including 2 to 3 years of team management experience.
- Demonstrated hands-on experience preparing and filing VAT and Corporate Tax compliances, including proficiency with the UAE FTA portal or other tax authority portals.
- Proven ability to support (tax) audits strategically, and supervise tax reconciliations, using MS Excel and, where applicable, available AI tools to enhance accuracy and efficiency.
- Working knowledge of UAE FTA tax regulations (VAT, Corporate Tax, Excise Tax); in the absence of UAE experience, familiarity with other jurisdictional tax frameworks and the ability to quickly adapt to UAE requirements along with necessary FTA accredited education / diplomas is essential.
- Extensive exposure to ERP and tax software tools, with strong Microsoft Office skills—particularly Excel—for data analysis, reconciliation, and reporting purposes.
